BB Desktop 4.6 – Vista Compatible finally…

Yay!

Ok this is going to sound completely and utterly absurd to anyone who doesn’t speak geek or have a BlackBerry, but oh well this is my blog, and it’s important to me.

Yeah so installed Vista a few days ago, and other than the fact that NO – I mean NO version of Desktop Manager works on it, and I’ve tried them all; Sprint’s Blackberry Technical Support Dept says that 4.2 SP1 works…. nope.

So after a few days of not being able to sync my BB with my notebook, I’d almost given up on ever being able to sync it. Let me stop and explain something – I never give up. If I have ever given up on something it was impossible. I don’t give up easily. So you can imagine how hard I’d tried.

So today I hear a rumor from my friend Mojo up in Canada that there’s a ver 4.6 of Desktop manager. I googled it, and there were rumors around the net, but nothing on Rim’s site – well the US site at least. I found a link to BB Desktop Manager 4.6 on Vodaphone’s site, in Germany. Luckily it was the multi-language installer. 🙂

I’m Happy to report that I can now sync my BB. Yes Mojo, I’ll post the pics from my crazy night last night @ Coyote Ugly soon…. I’ve been very busy today.

Yeah so Tuesday I was browsing the web while @ my Tue & Thu morning usual, <co name redacted> managing servers, and checking others reomotely…. The dell server @ the top (mainserver) is being retired…

Each BlackBerry device has a unique pin. If you buy a program for your BlackBerry, the serial # is generated from the PIN. So device specific. Now Research In Motion, or RIM (Maker of All Heavenly BB’s) owns exclusive and vast patents on BB. BB is genius. BB is secure. Your information will never be compromized. Your email will be realtime, and appear on your device without checking it. Wanna have your favorite song as your ring tone? No problem, simply connect your BB to your computer, when the prompt appears on your device asking you if you want to enable USB disk mode, choose YES, then enter your password. Another drive pop’s up in My computer. Place the MP3 in that drive In the BlackBerry Folder, under either Ringtones or Music Folder. Location is unimportant, because BB knows what it is.

Now after you remove the cable, goto your sounds profile editor, and edit the profile of your choice and the ringer of your choice and select the ringer that you just put on your device – simple!
